The time is fast approaching for the cool breeze, autumn leaves and pumpkin things! Having spent my teenage and early adult years in South Florida, I’ve come to greatly appreciate the beauty of Fall. September marks my 6th year living in PA and experiencing all of the little joys this season has to offer. In preparation, I put together this Bucket List & Monthly Activity Guide as a way to give myself direction over the next season.
Why Create A Bucket List?
What is life without hope; without dreams and aspirations? That isn’t to say that our entire focus should be on accomplishing things but our bucket lists help us reflect on our values and core beliefs. By creating this type of list, you become more of a forward thinker as you begin to set goals, and tasks, to each of your list items. In addition, you can reflect on what really matters to you and, I’ve found, you become more self-aware.
While most seasonal bucket list items don’t involve a lot of planning everything has specific tasks that, when finished, help move us closer to crossing that item off the list. Whether it is gathering the supplies & ingredients and carving out time to make a meal or purchasing tickets and/or budgeting for gas to go somewhere, your focus is on that goal…and it can be achieved.
How Long Should A Bucket List Be?
I like to keep my monthly bucket lists reasonably short because I tend to be a perfectionist. If I don’t see that I can easily schedule all of the activities on my list I may not give any a try; brains are weird that way.
Short answer though: However long you want it to; it’s your list so you make the rules!
Before long, I will be breaking out my cardigans, drinking apple cider/pumpkin lattes and listening to Frank Sinatra as I deck my house with all things orange. Not sure what to do for Fall this year? Here is an organized bucket list of ideas for each month!
